Location: Nationwide (100% travel required; home base flexible)

Reports to: Senior Project Manager / Director of Field Operations

Industry: Commercial General Contracting

Project Focus: Ground-Up construction of financial institutions (banks, credit unions, wealth management offices, data centers, and secure vault facilities)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to lead on-site execution of ground-up commercial projects, with a primary focus on financial institutions. This role demands a proven leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-security environment, delivering complex projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. You will live on-site for the duration of each project (typically 12–24 months), managing all field operations, subcontractor coordination, and owner/stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full on-site leadership of ground-up construction from sitework through punchlist and closeout.
  • Oversee daily field operations, including scheduling, manpower allocation, and progress tracking using Procore, PlanGrid, or similar.
  • Coordinate and direct all subcontractors and vendors, enforcing scope, schedule, and quality compliance.
  • Implement and enforce rigorous safety protocols (OSHA 30 required; experience with high-security site protocols a plus).
  • Manage secure site logistics, including controlled access, badge systems, CCTV coordination, and vault/secure room installations.
  • Conduct daily huddles, weekly subcontractor meetings, and owner/architect progress updates.
  • Review and approve 3-week look-ahead schedules; identify and mitigate delays proactively.
  • Ensure MEP/FP systems coordination (especially data, security, and backup power systems critical to financial facilities).
  • Oversee quality control, including mock-ups, inspections, and punchlist resolution.
  • Maintain as-built documentation, RFI logs, and change order tracking.
  • Achieve LEED/Sustainability goals where applicable (common in modern financial builds).

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of field supervision experience on ground-up commercial projects valued at $3M+.
  • Proven track record leading financial institution projects (banks, credit unions, trading floors, or secure facilities).
  • Expertise in concrete, steel, curtainwall, and high-end interior finishes (millwork, stone, secure glazing).
  • Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and 3 Week Lookaheads.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification (current).
  • Ability to pass background checks and obtain security clearances (common for financial projects).
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass DOT medical exam for company vehicle use.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with vault construction, ballistic materials, UL-rated assemblies, and SCIF-level security standards.
  • Previous work with national financial brands
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $110,000 – $145,000 (commensurate with experience)
