Position Open: Superintendent
Experience Needed: 4+ Years
Position Summary
The Construction Superintendent is the on-site leader responsible for the day-to-day execution of ground-up commercial and industrial projects valued from $5M to $50M+. You will manage all field operations, enforce safety and quality standards, coordinate subcontractors, and drive the project schedule to successful completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and maintain the 3-week look-ahead schedule in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Sequence trades, order long-lead materials, and anticipate logistical challenges (crane picks, utility tie-ins, soil conditions).
- Field Leadership
- Direct daily work of subcontractors (civil, structural, MEP, envelope) and self-perform crews when applicable.
- Conduct daily huddles, weekly subcontractor coordination meetings, and toolbox talks.
- Safety & Risk Management
- Enforce OSHA 30 standards, maintain site-specific safety plans, and achieve zero recordable incidents.
- Perform daily safety audits, correct hazards immediately, and document near-misses.
- Quality Control
- Implement and track the project QA/QC plan (concrete pre-pour checklists, steel plumb checks, MEP pressure tests, etc.).
- Punch-list management from substantial completion through owner turnover.
- Cost & Schedule Control
- Approve timecards, extra work authorizations, and daily reports in Procore (or equivalent).
- Identify schedule slips early and implement recovery plans.
- Owner & Architect Interaction
- Lead OAC meetings, provide clear progress updates, and resolve field issues in real time.
- Manage RFIs and change order documentation from the field.
Qualifications
Required
- 4+ years of field supervision on ground-up commercial/industrial projects (tilt-wall, PEMB, structural steel, or cast-in-place concrete).
- Proven track record of managing $5M+ jobs from excavation to CO.
- Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
- OSHA 30-Hour certification (current).
- Ability to read and interpret civil, architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
Preferred
- Experience with lean construction, pull-planning, or Last Planner System
Physical & Travel Requirements
- Full-time presence on job sites; ability to climb ladders, walk uneven terrain, and work in inclement weather.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary $115,000–$165,000 DOE
- Project-based bonuses (schedule/quality/safety milestones)
