Senior Tax Associate – Trusts, Estates & Complex Bookkeeping


Position Overview

The Senior Tax Associate is responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns, supporting compliance, and assisting with tax planning for a diverse client base, with a focus on trusts, estates, and high-net-worth individuals. The role also involves managing complex bookkeeping and accounting tasks. This position requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with team members.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, trusts, estates, partnerships, and corporations
  • Conduct tax research and analyze complex trust, estate, and high-net-worth tax issues
  • Assist with estate planning and wealth transfer strategies
  • Maintain and oversee complex bookkeeping and accounting records for clients
  • Ensure compliance with current tax laws, regulations, and deadlines
  • Communicate with clients to gather information and provide guidance on tax and accounting matters
  • Review work prepared by junior staff and provide mentorship and guidance
  • Support process improvements and best practices within the team


Qualifications

  • Several years of public accounting tax experience, with exposure to trusts, estates, and complex bookkeeping preferred
  • Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations related to individuals, estates, and trusts
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Experience working independently while contributing to a team environment
  • CPA or progress toward certification preferred
