Position Overview

Our client, a well-established community bank, is seeking an experienced Market President to lead and grow its presence in the region. This individual will play a key role on the bank’s senior management team and will be responsible for both strategic leadership and direct business development. The Market President will lead a team while personally producing a minimum of $20MM annually in new loan production, across C&I and CRE transactions.

This is a highly visible role requiring strong market knowledge, leadership capability, and a proven track record of commercial lending success within the San Antonio area.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior leader for the San Antonio market, representing the bank within the local business and civic community
  • Actively participate in the bank’s senior management team, contributing to overall strategic planning and execution
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of commercial lenders and support staff, driving performance and professional development
  • Personally originate a minimum of $20MM annually in new loan production, with a focus on CRE and C&I lending
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local business owners, professional service providers, and community leaders
  • Ensure sound credit quality, compliance with bank policies, and adherence to regulatory standards
  • Partner with credit, operations, and executive leadership to deliver exceptional client service and profitable growth
  • Identify market opportunities and competitive trends to expand the bank’s footprint and brand in San Antonio


Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of direct commercial lending experience, including C&I and CRE
  • Demonstrated success in business development and consistent loan production at or above $20MM annually
  • Prior experience in team leadership and/or management, including coaching and performance oversight
  • Strong understanding of credit underwriting, risk management, and loan structuring
  • Deep ties to the San Antonio market with an established professional network preferred
  • Proven ability to operate at both a strategic and tactical level
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
