Position Overview:

The bank is seeking an experienced Commercial Lender to help expand its commercial loan portfolio in the San Antonio area. This individual will serve as a generalist commercial banker, responsible for originating, structuring, and managing a diverse portfolio of CRE and C&I loans while developing strong relationships within the local business community.

The ideal candidate brings an established network in the market, a strong understanding of credit, and the ability to source new business while maintaining disciplined underwriting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Originate, structure, and close commercial loans, including Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) transactions
• Develop new business through active calling efforts, networking, and community involvement
• Build and manage a high-quality commercial loan portfolio
• Analyze financial statements, cash flow, and collateral to assess credit risk
• Prepare and present credit requests in accordance with bank policies
• Maintain strong relationships with borrowers and serve as a trusted financial advisor
• Collaborate closely with senior management and credit partners, with direct access to decision-makers
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal credit standards

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in commercial lending
• Experience with both CRE and C&I lending as a generalist
• Formal credit training and/or prior experience in a credit role
• Strong understanding of commercial underwriting and credit analysis
• Proven ability to source new loans and build a portfolio
• Established network and market presence in San Antonio and the surrounding area
• Excellent relationship management, communication, and business development skills
