Business Development Officer Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Business Development Officer to source, develop, and close new factoring and working capital opportunities across the United States. This role focuses on building deep referral networks, identifying businesses in need of accounts receivable financing, and guiding prospects through the full funding process. The ideal candidate is an established producer with strong COI relationships, a solid understanding of factoring, and the ability to consistently originate new business in a competitive market.
Business Development Officer Key Responsibilities
- Identify and originate factoring, accounts receivable financing, and working capital opportunities nationwide
- Build and maintain strong referral relationships with brokers, CPAs, attorneys, bankers, consultants, and industry groups
- Create and manage a consistent pipeline of qualified deals from initial outreach through closing
- Conduct preliminary financial and credit assessments to determine deal viability and fit with underwriting criteria
- Collaborate with underwriting, credit, and operations teams to ensure smooth deal structuring, approval, and onboarding
- Attend conferences, trade shows, and networking events to enhance market visibility and strengthen referral partnerships
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, competitive offerings, and market conditions
- Achieve or exceed monthly and annual production goals
Business Development Officer Qualifications
- Three to five years of experience in factoring, asset-based lending, or alternative lending business development
- Demonstrated track record of originating factoring deals and building sustainable referral networks
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable financing, credit assessment, and deal structuring
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills with the ability to manage a nationwide territory
- Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office products
