Our rapidly growing community bank client is seeking a skilled Commercial Underwriter to join their expanding team in Dallas. This bank has a strong focus on commercial real estate, business acquisition, and construction lending. Key Responsibilities

  • Underwrite commercial loan requests with an emphasis on CRE, construction, and business acquisition transactions.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including spreading, cash flow evaluation, risk assessment, and collateral review.
  • Perform internal loan reviews and ensure adherence to credit policy, regulatory standards, and risk management guidelines.
  • Review and interpret commercial loan documentation, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with relationship managers, credit officers, and senior leadership to structure loan terms that align with bank policy and client needs.
  • Communicate directly with clients as needed to gather financial information, clarify questions, and support a smooth underwriting process.
  • Prepare written credit memos and presentations that clearly outline credit risk and provide well-supported recommendations.
  • Utilize financial spreading software and loan origination systems to process and evaluate loan requests efficiently.


Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in commercial underwriting within banking or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of commercial loan documentation, policies, and regulatory considerations.
  • Experience in internal loan review processes.
  • Proficiency with financial spreading software and loan origination systems is highly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and sound judgment.
