Mortgage Loan Officer Overview
Our client is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer to originate high-quality residential mortgage loans while delivering exceptional service to borrowers, real estate partners, and community contacts throughout the Greater Boston Area. This role focuses on relationship building, generating new business, guiding customers through the mortgage process, and ensuring all loans meet internal and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is relationship-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of producing fifteen to twenty-five million dollars in annual residential loan volume within the local market.
Mortgage Loan Officer Key Responsibilities
- Originate a range of residential mortgage products including Conventional, Jumbo, Portfolio, and First-Time Homebuyer programs
- Build and maintain strong referral networks with realtors, attorneys, financial advisors, and other community partners
- Conduct thorough borrower interviews, assess financial profiles, and recommend appropriate loan programs
- Manage the loan process from application to closing, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and timely communication with all stakeholders
- Collaborate with underwriting, processing, and closing teams to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow
- Maintain strong knowledge of current mortgage regulations, secondary market guidelines, and internal credit policies
- Represent the institution at networking functions, community events, and homebuyer education seminars
- Meet established production goals while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction and loan quality
Mortgage Loan Officer Qualifications
- Three to five years of experience as a Mortgage Loan Officer or similar residential lending role
- Proven history of mortgage loan production and established referral relationships
- Ability to consistently generate fifteen to twenty-five million dollars in residential loan volume annually
- Strong understanding of mortgage products, credit analysis, and regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal lending teams
- Proficiency with loan origination systems and Microsoft Office applications
