Mechanical/HVAC Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical / HVAC Engineer to design, coordinate, and support HVAC and mechanical systems for large-scale Hospitals, Data Centers, Industrial and Aviation projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, a working knowledge of codes and standards, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams from concept through construction.


Key Responsibilities


  • Design HVAC and mechanical systems including air distribution, hydronic systems, plumbing interfaces, and equipment selection
  • Perform load calculations, system sizing, and energy analysis
  • Develop construction documents including drawings, specifications, and schedules
  • Coordinate designs with architectural, electrical, structural, and plumbing teams
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements (ASHRAE, IMC, IPC, etc.)
  • Support project teams during construction, including submittal reviews, RFIs, and site visits
  • Evaluate existing systems and develop renovation or retrofit solutions
  • Assist with cost estimating and value engineering efforts as needed
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and meet schedule milestones


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in HVAC or mechanical engineering design
  • Proficiency with HVAC design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Trace/HAP, EnergyPlus, or similar)
  • Working knowledge of ASHRAE standards, local building codes, and energy codes
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience working on large-scale Healthcare, Data Centers and/or Airport projects


Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT in progress
  • Experience with sustainable or high-performance building design
  • Familiarity with commissioning or construction administration
