We are seeking an experienced Mechanical/HVAC Engineer to lead the design, coordination, and technical delivery of HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. The ideal candidate has strong engineering fundamentals, practical field understanding, and the ability to manage projects from concept through construction.


Design & Engineering


  • Lead mechanical and HVAC system design, including load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork and piping layout, and control strategies.
  • Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Perform energy modeling, system sizing, and code compliance checks.
  • Ensure designs meet applicable codes (IMC, IECC, ASHRAE, NFPA, local amendments).


Project Execution

  • Serve as the mechanical discipline lead on projects, from schematic design through construction administration.
  • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in design meetings, value engineering sessions, and project reviews.
  • Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and respond with clear technical direction.
  • Conduct site visits for field verification, inspections, and commissioning support.


Technical Leadership


  • Mentor junior engineers and designers; provide quality control oversight.
  • Identify design risks and propose cost-effective alternatives.
  • Support the development of internal standards, templates, and best practices.


Qualifications


Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer License is required
  • 5–12 years of experience in mechanical/HVAC engineering.
  • Proficiency with HVAC design software (e.g., Trane Trace, Carrier HAP) and CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit preferred).
  • Solid knowledge of ASHRAE standards, IMC, IECC, and common building codes.
  • Experience producing full mechanical design packages for commercial or industrial buildings.


Preferred

  • Experience with design-build delivery and construction coordination.
  • Familiarity with BIM workflows and model management.
  • Experience with energy-efficient/low-carbon technologies (VRF, geothermal, DOAS, heat recovery, etc.).
