Overview
Our client, a well-established community bank in Cottonwood, Minnesota, is seeking a highly motivated Ag/Commercial Loan Officer & Branch Manager to lead branch operations while managing and growing a high-quality loan portfolio. This individual will be responsible for building strong customer relationships, supporting local agricultural and commercial businesses, and ensuring the branch delivers exceptional service and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Lending & Portfolio Management
- Originate, analyze, and service agricultural and commercial loans in accordance with bank policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct thorough credit analysis, prepare loan presentations, and structure financing solutions that meet client needs.
- Monitor existing loan relationships to ensure credit quality, timely renewals, and risk management.
- Develop new business opportunities through community engagement, referrals, and proactive outreach.
- Maintain a deep understanding of local ag and commercial markets, including commodity trends, farm operations, and business financials.
Branch Management & Leadership
- Oversee daily branch operations, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and customer service excellence.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and support to branch staff to achieve performance and sales goals.
- Manage branch budgets, operational workflows, and risk mitigation practices.
- Ensure the branch maintains a welcoming, efficient, and customer-focused environment.
Community Engagement & Relationship Building
- Represent the bank in community organizations, events, and local business activities.
- Build long-lasting relationships with farmers, business owners, and community members.
- Act as a trusted advisor by providing financial expertise and tailored solutions.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in agricultural and/or commercial lending required.
- Prior branch management or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Strong credit analysis and loan structuring skills.
- Knowledge of agriculture, farm financials, and local rural markets.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently while leading a high-performing team.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, agriculture, or related field preferred.
